Theme rooms: Zähringer towns
The Zähringer dynasty founded several towns in Southwestern Germany and Switzerland in the 11th and 12th century, including Bräunlingen. These towns typically are notable for their round plan and broad central streets.
The Zähringer towns in Switzerland are: Bern, Fribourg/Üchtland, Thun, Murten, Burgdorf and Rheinfelden; in Southwestern Germany they are Freiburg, Villingen, Bräunlingen, Neuenburg, Weilheim/Teck and the monastery St. Peter in the Black Forest.
Some of our rooms are decorated as Zähringer town theme rooms. Each room is decorated with objects from the respective place, such as historical photos or posters, artwork, and a short overview of its history.
